Mothers Day Cards For Stores

So now that Mother's Day is over and done with I thought I would show y'all the cards I made for local stores!

First: The pink and blue "MOM" paper with coordinating ribbon and inked "happy".  I just loved how these turned out!
Next:

 A pretty glittery "Mom" sentiment and hand cut flowers! Time consuming but I like how they look.
And finally:

 I did a bunch of these cards; no two were exactly alike, different papers. I really love the papers I used for these and the pretty butterflies are always a favorite!

Well, what do you think? I am going into the stores to find out how I did. Lets keep fingers crossed!

Magic Monday Layout- Week 8

Magic Monday Layout; a super fun way to feature different layouts I have made or fall in love with.
This layout is a favorite because it's just too cute!!! I plan to be making some of these very soon.

I love the distressing, the brad drawer handles, the stuff coming out of the drawers and the tea set! I don't know what I DON'T like about this card! After I do one I'll do a tutorial on it. Keep looking back to see how I do it!

I think I'm getting a sinus infection so I am a day late this week. I almost got this done on Monday this time! I hope you find some inspiration out of this card. I know I have!

Valentines Cards for Stores

I have been working on some fun cards for Valentines Day to put in some local stores!
I used a stamp of the month for these from CTMH, how cute are they!

If you remember the stamp set it has some pretty hearts and a "ticket" that says Over the Moon in Love with you". Now I wanted to have more "tickets" that said the other things so I used a post-it to mask the inside text to just stamp the outside lines of the "ticket". I think it turned out super cute!

I love how the hearts, ticket and circle shape can be cut out using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. It made the projects so much easier. Now if I could have a machine to ink the edges.....

Card Workshop Card

I have a fun card workshop coming up that I design the cards for and I made this super cute card for everyone to make too! It's a tri-fold card that is scored and cut so my ladies can breeze through their projects. All the paper is pre-cut ... how great is that!
Here's a photo of the card with the dimensions I did.

1) The cardstock starts at 5.5x12


3) Cut 1.5" in from each side from score mark to score mark (2 & 10)






2) Score at 2,4,8,10"2) Score at 2,4,8,10"

4) Fold at score marks in opposite directions as shown.

When you are all finished folding, use the card as a template to cut paper. It's that easy!
When it's all done it fits in a standard A2 envelope.

Merry Christmas with Believe CTMH Paper

This should give you something to "Believe" in! This super easy and classic Christmas card is the thing for you! Using CTMH paper "Believe" and some cardstock and a button it's so easy and simple you can make a bunch of them at once for family and friends!

Make your card base at 4.25"x5.5". Cover with pretty Holiday Red paper. Cut white cardstock at 3.25"x4.5" and scallop the bottom edge with a pretty decorative punch. Cut a square of cool Believe CTMH paper at 3x3.5" and adhere toward the top of the white paper keeping the top and sides equal. Cut a strip of Sweet Leaf CTMH cardstock at 3.5x1.5" and sand the edges. Adhere about an inch above the bottom scalloped edge of the white cardstock. Take a die cut snowflake (using CTMH Art Philosophy) and place on Sweet Leaf cardstock. Get a Holiday Red button and thread with white waxy flax or embroidery thread and place in center of snowflake. Stamp sentiment on white above scallops and you are done! How easy is that!

Dreamin Paper Pack CTMH

If I have to choose a paper that personifies the month of November for me it would have to be Dreamin'.  I love the fun pattern and earthy tones that are in this paper pack.

What a great color pallet to use for fall activities like going to the Pumpkin Patch, winding your way through the Corn Mazes, or making homemade applesauce! It's the perfect time of year to go get a bushel of apples and make some sauce!
I also love the way the paper seems to make photos seem to pop right off the page.This "X" style pattern with multi colors is so beautiful but yet does not detract from the photos at all.

The last photo I'll show is a card that is so dreamy! The idea of a dandelion puff and the beautiful fall tones makes this card so perfect. Yes, I guess I am just really loving this Dreamin' Paper pack from CTMH!

As our minds turn toward Christmas and giving, I look for any opportunity to make something quick and simple so that there's always a gift at hand. You never know when you might need to reciprocate or even give a trinket to someone whose spirits need lifting. Today I put together a very, very easy pocket that houses a gift card. Because the pocket and the gift card are separate, they provide lots of opportunity for embellishment. This project takes 1 piece of 12" x 12" design paper and 1 sheet of 8.5" x 11" cardstock, along with some scraps. With less than a 10 minute investment in time, you're going to a have personalized gift card pocket, ready to go.

Sympathy Card With CTMH

Sometimes you need to have more than just thank you cards and birthday cards! This super cute Sympathy card is just perfect for anyone who has suffered a loss. This card uses The wonderful Elemental paper packet from CTMH. How cute is this! The strip of paper on the left that has circles is the new thing that CTMH has done with their paper. Each piece of patterned paper has a "zip strip"; a 1/2" strip of coordinating patterns that is attached to the top of the paper. You just slip the paper into your paper cutter and ... zip! You have a cool border for your project. Cool huh? 

This Sympathy card also us using the new CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. The cute swirl is cut using the Cricut machine. It's so easy and great that you don't have to cut it out yourself. Also cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge is the banner at the bottom and the perfect circles. I'll bed you can't cut a more perfect circle if you tried!

 This little video will show you exactly how to use the super cool spray pen that CTMH sells. It's true you can probably buy some spray pens that are already mixed and ready to spray but they won't match your CTMH colors exactly! Beware!

Technique Thursday Glitter Glue

So I have a new thing I want to try. I have so many little techniques that I like to try and if I get to share them with others, I’ll be more likely to use them! So here goes…

Technique #1
Glitter Glue

This one is pretty easy and I have recently fallen in love with Stickles. Stickles are a no-mess glitter glue (gg) and they come in many different colors; at least 35! With that kind of variety you can match most of your pages or cards you do. There are other kinds of gg out there you can get at Craft Warehouse, JoAnn Fabrics and Hobby Lobby, to name a few. I have found that the gg you can get in the dollar bin are not the best. They don’t flow out of the bottle nicely, and they glob up and don’t spread very well. I like Stickles the best so far!

The technique is really easy. You can gg over a stamped image, on a die cut or directly on the paper to create your own design. You can glitter on chipboard shapes, buttons, brads and stickers. It’s pretty endless as to what you can gg on and I’m ready to try them all! Glitter Glue really gives a fun sparkle to most anything without adding the bulk of gems.
Here I stamped a butterfly image from CTMH and went over it with two colors of gg. You need to wait until the ink from the stamp has dried enough so the ink doesn’t run or blend with the glue. After I applied the gg, I set it aside for a long time to dry. This is important, because if you mess with it too soon, you can smear the glue all over and it makes quite a mess. After it is completely dry, you can apply it to your project and voila! you are finished!

I found this card on jeanettelynton.com and how cute is this!

The apple in this card uses the letter “A” from multiple alphabet sets as purely visual elements. To get this alphabet soup look, make a template of an apple by finding and printing out an image. Cut out the image using your craft knife, making sure to leave the outside edges of the paper you are cutting intact. Take the resulting piece of paper with the apple shape cut from it and place it over the piece you are stamping on. Stamp A’s from multiple stamp sets to fill the space – easy as A, A, A!
